Laughing Dog Productions is the partnership between two filmmakers, Connie Rinehart and Tom Donohue. Based in Washington DC, LDP produces hour-long documentaries primarily for The Discovery Channel and National Geographic Television. Their work has received two Cine Golden Eagles and an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Artistic & Cultural Achievement” Versatile filmmakers Connie and Tom handle a wide range of subject matter. Their stories have taken them from the epicenter of the AIDS pandemic in South Africa to the heart of crime-ridden neighborhoods in North America; from the war-torn streets of Afghanistan to the emotional war raging within survivors of suicide. The two embody the philosophy of the DV revolution handling all creative aspects of the production: producing, shooting, editing, and writing. Working as a two-person crew allows them to achieve incredible intimacy with their subjects during production. In the edit room they have the advantage of working with their own material. Connie and Tom both have a strong command of the French language and a good working command of Spanish. |
“Congratulations on your Emmy Nomination for Reza: Shooting Back. I know how much hard work and personal commitment you brought to this film and this recognition is well deserved.”
