Women now make up 55% of new HIV/AIDS cases worldwide. This film investigates why the balance shifted and culminates by introducing the hope of the future – a preventative drugs that women control. To date, filming has taken place in England, South Africa and the US.

Surviving Suicide: Those Left Behind

Surviving the loss of a loved one to suicide is often identified as “the most difficult bereavement process”. Survivors are nine times more likely to take their own lives. The LOSS team is a group of survivors who for the first time are allowed to join the police, medics and coroner at the scene of a suicide to help the new survivor cope. The brave individuals in this film are an inspiration to anybody who has experienced loss and grief.

Reza: Shooting Back

NGT asked LDP to profile one of its top photographers, Reza Deghati. An assignment that started in Paris took an unexpected tour to Afghanistan in the wake of disaster at the World Trade Center. This is an inspiring look at an inspired humanitarian. With the success of Crime Scene New York, Discovery asked for a follow-up in the Big Easy. The story continues with the difficulty confronted by a Crime Scene cleaner offering his services when no one has ever heard of such a thing.

Partisan Pictures in New York asked LDP to explore a gruesome idea with incredible drama. Most people don’t know that when the coroner and police leave a crime scene, it’s the responsibility of the homeowner to clean up the mess. Private citizens are often retraumatized. Worse, blood is a vessel for many pathogens - clean up can be lethal.

Women In The Ring

LDP climbs into the ring as women boxers make their controversial debut. The film follows three women who fight not only their opponents but also the limitations society has placed on them for choosing this male dominated sport. The filmmakers were there when Mohamed Ali’s daughter Layla joined the ranks, placing the sport in the limelight. The documentary was awarded the Cine Golden Eagle.
